My primary focus is to improve the human condition through technology. I use ethnographic research methods, participatory design, and storytelling to influence product leaders as they create emerging technology. I have worked with startups, agencies, and in-house design teams, leading numerous design research projects that encompass the entire product lifecycle, from initial exploration and concept development, to implementation and beyond.

Once a product is designed, I oversee evaluation, which usually includes usability testing to pinpoint potential challenges. These activities create gaurd rails that operationalize the maintenance of seamless experiences and strengthening user trust.

As a user researcher, I start by understanding user pain points, needs, and industry trends. I also dedicate research cycles to understanding the humans, communities and societies Iā€™m building solutions for, at a more fundamental level. This foundation guides me to inform solutions that consistently surpass customer and market expectations.

I am particularly interested in building the next generation of critical infrastructure for emerging markets, including developing rules based configuration engines for transportation networks, and financial systems. I have a special interest in fortifying Sub-Saharan credit infrastructure, and broadening access to higher education in marginalized communities, and expanding the ability for non-technical users to contribute during product development. At the core of my ethos is to apply the principles of asset-based development to lift underserved communities as they develop.
